After School Tutoring and Skills Development Program

Dear Parents/Guardians,

The Old Homosassa Learning Center is pleased to announce that the 2017-2018 After School Tutoring and Skills Development Program will begin September 18, 2017 for students from the Homosassa Elementary School in second through fifth grades. The number of children enrolled will be limited so that we can meet individual needs and best serve your child. As with all our youth programs, there is NO CHARGE.

The program will follow the Citrus County School District schedule and will be Monday through Friday from 3:30-5:30 pm. Please note that if the school is closed due to student holiday, inclement weather, or early dismissal, the Old Homosassa Learning Center will be closed also.

Our program is planned to support academic growth and skills development through a variety of activities. Special enrichment activities will include the following:

Yoga by Tiffany on Tuesdays from 5:00-5:30,

Music activities on Wednesdays, and

Costume Creation and sewing on Thursdays.

The tutoring will include homework help in addition to a focus on academic and thinking skills. Additional varied activities will be included to support the overall student development.

It would benefit your child to meet with the teacher to obtain specific materials or a list of skills for special focus. Also, please have your child bring a favorite book and/or board game.

If you are interested in the after school program, please come to the Old Homosassa Learning Center during tutoring hours to complete a permission slip. The Old Homosassa Learning Center is located directly across the street from the Homosassa Elementary School at 10950 W. Yulee Drive.

The permission slip and additional information about the program can also be found on the website: homosassacivicclubinc.org/old-homosassa-learning-center/

We are looking forward to meeting you and your child,
